Today, our only news is some bad news in the US.
In the United States, Fourth of July was disastrous in many areas, with heat and mass shootings plaguing the country over the weekend. Temperatures in the South hit the 110ºF (43ºC) mark in multiple big cities like Phoenix and El Paso, while other southern US cities sweltered in extreme humidity and 90 degree (32 degree Celsius) temperatures as well.
Meanwhile, across the rest of the US, the July 4 weekend saw 22 mass shootings across 17 states that left 20 people dead and over 125 others injured. In the United States' capital city, nine people were injured in an early morning shooting on July 5, while five people were killed and two others injured in Philadelphia on Monday. The same night, three people were killed and eight others injured in Fort Worth, and small parties in Indianapolis and Baltimore turned into disaster zones after gunmen stormed onto the scene and fired. Many more were reported, and we at TWN feel for those whose family and friends were affected by this violence.
