May the Fourth be with you, Star Wars fans! Let's get into today's news.
The Federal Reserve have just raised interest rates by another quarter point, marking the tenth straight hike in an attempt to curb inflation in the US. However, Biden hinted at a break in the rate hikes for now, as inflation begins to calm down a little bit.
On another note, gun violence has struck again, but not in the United States this time. Eight school staff were killed in northern Pakistan on Thursday, including five teachers. The gunman has not been identified or found, but a suspected motive has been discovered. All of the people shot at or killed were of the Shia branch of Islam, and the shooting took place in an area notoriously known for conflict between the Sunni and Shia sects of the religion, so the shooter may have been against Shiites.
