Our big changes have finally arrived! Check out all of our new changes here, and visit our new website at yournewshub.org!

Hello, my name is Adit Kakkad, and as you may know, June 15th was my last day as part of YNH/TWN. This is will be my last daily update written by me, so enjoy! We have a weather filled update, so let's jump in.

Around 113 million people are heat advisories in the US from Florida to California and Washington State. An all-time high for this time of year was recorded in Phoenix, Arizona, reaching 118ºF (47.7ºC). Temperatures has been consistently around 110ºF (43.3ºC) for 16 days in a row; the temps haven't dipped below 100ºF (37.7ºC) for the entire month! Death Valley is expected to reach up to 129ºF (53.9ºC) as well. Italy is also experiencing heat waves, with extreme health risks for 16 cities. Rome is expected to get as hot as 111ºF (43.9ºC), and this has only begun. There are expected to be more heatwaves across Europe, including Spain, France, Germany, and Poland.

On the other hand, severe flooding continues to impact northern India, South Korea, and Japan as storms sit over those areas. In New Delhi, India, entire roads have been washed away due to poor drainage systems and floodplains, but India's monsoon season has been breaking records this year, adding to the misery. In South Korea, hundreds of cars have been submerged and at least twenty-two people have been confirmed dead after people got trapped in a bus. Landslides have taken out entire towns in the severe storms, and over 4,000 people have been evacuated. 15 vehicles were trapped in the deluge of water that quickly submerged the four-lane underpass (including the bus), killing seven people- and eleven others are still missing. In Japan, six people are dead and tens of others are missing, while thousands have been evacuated. Northeastern Japan has taken the brunt of the hit, especially the Akita and Tohoku regions, and more rain is yet to come.
