Today's only big news is that Cyclone Mocha continues to batter western Myanmar as it moves farther north and into a less populated area. It was expected to make landfall near Cox's Bazar, the world's largest refugee camp, which houses over 1 million people in flimsy bamboo shelters. Instead, the cyclone made landfall in the small Burmese town of Sittwe with sustained winds of about 155 mph and gusts of up to 195 mph. However, it was still a very close call for the refugees in southeastern Bangladesh. Millions of people are now out of power and multiple humanitarian associations are carefully watching and tracking the storm to get an idea of how much damage it may have done.
