Abstract Futuristic Background

Delhi, India

introduction

The Union Territory of Delhi is home to two cities famous for being the capital of India at one point in time: New Delhi (British Raj, 1931-1947; India, 1947-present) and Old Delhi (Mughal Empire, 1530–1540; 1554–1556; 1639–1857). Because it has had so many different kingdoms and cultures passing through, there is diversity in its culture, people, and landmarks.

When To Visit

The best time to visit Delhi is between October and March, in the winter. If you go in the summer, make sure to stay inside during the day, because it gets scorching hot!

Main Attractions

India Gate: A large arch in the middle of Delhi that commemorates the 70,000 soldiers who lost their lives in World War I fighting for Britain.

Qutub Minar: An extremely tall pillar to commemorate the victory of the Muslims in India, defeating the last Hindu ruler of the area.

Red Fort: A massive red fort (true to its name) that has witnessed some of the biggest moments in Indian history.

Lotus Temple: The huge temple shaped like a lotus (a sacred flower to Hindus) stands for some of the things that the lotus stands for: simplicity, freshness, unity, and clarity in life.
